Alexander Sapozhnikov, Managing Director and a founder of Moscow based Cyberprofit Consultants has been involved in international business in the former USSR since 1982.

He worked on developing scientific and technological co-operation between Russian and international R&D organizations, participated in preparation and publishing a series of Businessman's Guides, coordinated technical projects on establishing electronics manufacturing and the commercialization of Russian technology, participated in arranging the first Russian/Asian technology conference in Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan for the Academy of Sciences and the Russian President's Administration, coordinated a major garment manufacturing project in the Russian Far East for the Hong Kong-Korean-American consortium, arranged numerous overseas business trips for delegations representing industrial and business circles of the main Russian regions and fact finding missions to Russia for American, European and Asian companies.

Prior to setting up Cyberprofit Consultants Ltd., Mr. Sapozhnikov was Joint Consultant with Hong Kong's Image Alpha Limited. Image Alpha started operating in 1989 and has been active in Asian-Russian strategic consulting (business development, manufacturing, sourcing, investment).
From 1993 to 2001 Mr.Sapozhnikov was also the Deputy Editor-in-Chief for international "Russian Business & Trade Connections" magazine. His articles on Russian business were published in Asian Wall Street Journal, Asian Inc., South China Morning Post, Asian Sources and other periodicals. He was a regular speaker at conferences and seminars in Asia, Russia, UK, Turkey, Cyprus and USA on both technology and Russian issues.
Alexander Sapozhnikov maintains close relations with the Russian Academy of Sciences, provincial administrations and local companies belonging to strategic industrial sectors.
Projects accomplished in the last years
- Coordination of sourcing and deliveries of special grade Titanium powder for hi-tech applications to the Republic of Korea.
- Coordination of deliveries of Russian made industrial laser heads to Korean client.
- Coordination of participation of 3 large Russian aviation plants in the tender on manufacturing machined parts on order of a large international distributor of aviation spare parts (with headquarters in the UK).
- Coordination of development and production of simple custom made ICs (semiconductor integrated circuits) for an Asian manufacturer of watch, clocks and calculators.
- Helping an American client to enter into business relations with Russian exporters of stable isotopes for medical applications.
- Helping a Russian manufacturer of modular gas turbines (used as power generation plants) produced on the basis of aircraft engines to develop relations with potential Asian business partners.
- Helping an American manufacturer of ingredients for manufacturing dietary and bioactive food supplements (fruit and vegetable powders, mineral powders) to establish relations with interested Russian manufacturers.
- Helping an Indian manufacturer of mining machinery (e.g. roof bolters, etc.) to enter the Russian market.
- Helping a Japanese company to develop relations with Russian manufacturers of optoelectronic components and materials (lasers, lenses, mirrors, filters, optical materials, etc.).
- Helping an Italian company to find subcontractors among Russian machine building factories to produce specially designed metal wheels for the vehicles to be used in the Arctic regions.
- Helping a large Israeli manufacturer of microwave electronic components to identify and coordinate business discussions with 10 Russian importers/distributors. As a result, the Israeli company signed an exclusive distribution agreement with one of the Russian distributors.
- Helping a Japanese manufacturer of D2 (Deuterium) lamps and hollow cathode lamps (the lamps are used in some kinds of analytical equipment such as spectrophotometers) to enter into business discussions with potential Russian clients.
- Helping a large Israeli manufacturer of advanced VoIP telecom equipment to develop relations with the leading Russian distributors resulting in significant exports of telecom equipment from Israel to Russia.
- Helping a German developer of technologies and equipment for optimization of combustion process to close deals with 2 large Russian fuel oil and coal-fired power plants.
- Helping an Israeli developer of complete solutions for telemedicine, telehealth and telecare applications to enter into business discussions with potential Russian clients and business partners.
- Helping and Israeli biotechnology company that develops and manufactures innovative lipid-based bio-functional ingredients to start cooperation with interested Russian pharmaceutical companies.
