Osith Ramanathan is the Managing Director of Orissa Capital Pte Ltd., and has been offering financial and international business development advisory services since 1996. His multi-industry experience includes serving in the Financial Services industry, first with GE Capital Southeast Asia, with responsibilities for Regional Business Development and later in a financial advisory capacity for the Southeast Asia Representative Office of AIG Capital Corporation, covering Project Finance and Direct Investment in Indonesia.

He started his career in Singapore-based conglomerates, first in a marketing position with the Sembawang Group covering the Energy Construction sector and later with Neptune Orient Lines where he had responsibilities for equipment operations internationally.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore, a Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from the Singapore Institute of Management, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the London Business School.

He has been admitted as a Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK), and is a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors. He holds office in the London Business School Alumni Club of Singapore. He had been part of the Global Leadership Development Program while in GE and also underwent the International Business Fellowship Executive Program on Vietnam under the auspices of the Hanoi National University & the Ho Chi Minh Economics University. He had also been admitted as a member of MENSA UK.

Currently through the company, he acts as the Authorized Representative of the Saarland Economic Promotion Corporation, Germany as well as the Regional Trade Consultant for the Virginia Economic Development Partnership. Over the years, he has undertaken roles as Director of the ASEAN Representative Office under the Office of International Business Development, Department of Community and Economic Development of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Director of the Office of Trade and Investment for ASEAN under the Californian Technology, Trade and Commerce Agency, as well as the Singapore Trade Representative for the International Business Development Office of the Department of Community and Economic Development of the State of Utah.

In a personal capacity, he holds directorships in various privately-held companies, covering investment, aviation, property and education areas. His primary linguistic fluency is English and Malay/Bahasa Indonesia.
